Step-by-Step Instructions: Edible Glitter

Step One: Preheat Your Oven

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the oven stay heated for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Step Two: Mix Sugar and Food Coloring

In a clean jar, add the granulated sugar and one drop of your choice of food coloring at a time. Shake the jar to ensure the food coloring thoroughly coats the sugar.  Repeat the process as needed until the mix reaches your desired color.

Galaxy Candy Apple Recipe

With the use of edible glitter, you can make a huge selection of edible glitter candy apples. These galaxy apples look like a constellation from space, and they’re absolutely stunning. To make these yourself, you’ll need:

  • 6 clean and dry apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 6 lollipop sticks
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of light corn syrup
  • black, white, and blue gel food coloring
  • silver edible glitter
  • candy thermometer

Now all you need to do is:

  1. Remove the stem of the apple and place one of the sticks through the core; this will act as a way to hold the apple. Repeat for all apples.
  2. Before you begin, you’ll also need to line a sheet with parchment paper and grease lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Add the following ingredients to a pan: syrup, sugar, and water. Place your thermometer into the pan and heat until it reaches 300F.
  4. Once you’ve reached this temperature, remove it from heat. Add a few drops of black and blue gel food coloring. Mix and then sprinkle in a small amount of silver edible glitter. Mix well. Finally, add a drop of white food coloring and do not mix.

The perfect time of the year for candy apples is Halloween, so why not add some glitter to make them more exciting? To do this, you’ll need the following:

  • 4 clean and dry apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 2 cups of Jolly Rancher candies (separate colors)
  • edible glitter of your choice
  • 4 lollipop sticks

Now all you need to do is:

  1. Gather the ingredients you need and preheat your oven to 350F. You’ll also need to line a sheet with parchment paper and cooking spray.
  2. Remove the stem from each apple and insert your lollipop stick into the core. You’ll also need to add your edible glitter to a shallow bowl.
  3. Add candy to an oven-safe bowl or pan, and heat for around 15 minutes. Remove, stir and place back into the oven and heat for another 3-4 minutes. Remove from oven.

Starry Sky Edible Glitter Candy Apples Recipe

These candy apples look so striking, and just like a starry evening sky. To create them yourself, you’ll need the following:

  • 5 apples, cleaned and dried (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 30 wrapped caramels
  • 2 tablespoons of warm water
  • 2-3 drops of black food coloring
  • edible gold glitter
  • 5 lollipop sticks

Now all you need to do is:

  1. Remove the stem from each apple and place the lollipop stick into the core. You’ll also need to line a sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add unwrapped caramels to a pan and add a small amount of warm water. Heat on low and mix throughout until melted.
  3. Once melted, add your black food coloring and mix well. Remove from heat and angle the pan so you have a good amount of dipping space for your apples.
  4. Dip each apple into the mixture, coating entirely. You can use a spoon if this helps. Once the excess has dripped off, place it on your prepared baking sheet and repeat for all apples.
  5. Dust the apples with your edible gold glitter; with as little, or as much as you’d like.
