Step one: Wash your strawberries

Step two: Melt your white chocolate

Allow the water to simmer on low heat, being sure the water itself does not touch the double boiler. Stir your white chocolate and shortening mix constantly until it is melted. Once your mixture of chocolate is melted, remove the double boiler from the heat.

Step three: Dip your strawberries

Grab your washed and dried strawberries by the stem and dip them in the white chocolate. Swirl the strawberry around in the chocolate to make sure it is fully coated. Slowly pull the strawberry out of the chocolate and gently tap it on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.

Carefully place your dipped strawberry on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper. If the chocolate begins to harden up while you are dipping, microwave it for 5-10 seconds at half power until it loosens back up, stirring after each interval.

Place the strawberries an inch apart on the baking sheet to give them plenty of room. You don’t want the strawberries to bump into each other while the chocolate is still drying.
