  • 2 ounces of cool water, about 57 grams
  • One drop of liquid food coloring of your choice, optional

Step by step instructions

Step 1

Before anything else, pour two ounces of cool water into a shallow dish. Then, evenly sprinkle your gelatin powder over your cool water. Afterward, allow your gelatin to bloom for about five minutes.

Step 2

After that, microwave the shallow dish with the bloomed gelatin for about thirty seconds. Then, stir using a spoon. Also, microwave the gelatin mixture for another fifteen seconds. Likewise, you can do so until the gelatin melts completely.

Step 3

Next, be sure to allow the gelatin mixture to sit for about five minutes. Likewise, you can do so until the bubbles descend on the surface. In addition to that, you will notice a formation of white foam. Then, make sure to skim the white foam from the surface using a spoon. After that, ensure to throw it out.

Afterward, you may add the coloring if you like. In addition to that, you can add the luster, corn syrup if you like. Then, allow the gel to dry completely in a flat container to make the sheet. Tips And Tricks

When sprinkling your powdered sugar over your water, ensure to do it slowly and gently. After that, allow your gelatin to absorb all the water evenly. Also, if there are still grains of gelatin that do not dissolve, you may put in a bit of water. As a result, it may cause your gelatin to dry longer. However, it is better than having any unabsorbed gelatin.

Moreover, allow your gelatin mixture to bloom. Likewise, let your gelatin absorb all the water. Remember, this process will help you achieve better results.

Furthermore, when your gelatin blooms, heat your gelatin gently. Then, start with thirty seconds and fifteen seconds increments. If your gelatin boils or becomes too hot, it may cause your gelatin not to set properly. The main reason is that the integrity of your gelatin may change due to the intense heat.

Step by step instructions

Step 1

First and foremost, pour your water into a small glass bowl. After that, sprinkle your unflavored gelatin powder over the top of your water. Remember, you may sprinkle in thin layers. Then, allow the water to absorb your gelatin powder. Likewise, allow your gelatin to bloom for about a few minutes. Make sure to do this before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2

Afterward, when your gelatin blooms completely, heat your gelatin inside a microwave for fifteen seconds. Then, stir using a small spoon. After that, heat your gelatin and water mixture until the gelatin dissolves entirely. When the white foam starts to form on top of your gelatin mixture, scoop the white foam using a spoon.
