  • One pack of unflavored gelatin, about 7.2 grams
  • 1/4 tsp of citric acid
  • 1/4 cup of corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup of water, at room temperature

Equipment

  • Two pieces 1-inch silicone bear molds
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Medium-sized microwave-safe bowl
  • Soupspoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Baking sheet

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1

In a medium-sized and microwave-safe bowl, combine your flavored gelatin and citric acid. Afterward, stir until well combined.

Step 3

Once the gelatin has bloomed, stir your gelatin mixture. Then, place it inside the microwave; set on high heat for about thirty seconds. Afterward, stir the mixture again. And microwave for another fifteen seconds. Next, repeat the heating process of fifteen seconds three times for a total of one minute and a half. If you can see air bubbles forming on the surface of your gelatin, stop heating. After that, stir it gently to remove the bubbles.

Next, let your gummy bears sit for about thirty minutes. Once done, place the molds inside the refrigerator for another thirty minutes.

Step 7

When your gummy bears are firm, push each piece out of the bear molds. And arrange them on a baking sheet. Position each of the bears where they are standing upright.

Step 8

Then, let your gummy bears sit in that position for forty-eight hours. And lay them on their backs for another twenty-four hours. This process is long. If it did not shrink, leave your bears for another day or more until they have a chewy consistency. Afterward, toss your gummy bears around as often as you can so they will dry out.
