- 1 1/2 tbsp of cornstarch
- 3 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp of salted butter
For the cake:
- 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups of milk
- 2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 6 tbsp of melted butter

Step 1: Prepare
Gather all of the ingredients you need and grease a baking pan and preheat your oven to 350F.
Step 2: Make the Pudding – Vanilla Pudding Cake Recipe From Scratch
Add the cornstarch and around 1/4 cup of milk to a saucepan. Once smooth, add the heavy cream, salt, sugar, and the remainder of the milk. Whisk the mixture continuously over low to medium heat. Once smooth, leave for a few minutes until it begins to thicken. At this point, add the butter and vanilla extract. Once melted and smooth, add the pudding to the bottom of the pan.
Step 3: Make the Cake
Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt to a bowl. In another bowl, add the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix well. Once mixed, add the melted butter. Mix until just combined. Pour the batter into the pan, on top of the pudding mixture. It doesn’t matter if the cake batter and pudding mixture mix, just try to pour evenly.
Step 4: Bake the Cake

- 1 cup of French vanilla coffee creamer (or heavy cream)
- 1/2 cup of whole milk
- 2 tbsp of oil
- 2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 2/3 cups of sugar
- 3 eggs
