Tips and Tricks for Egg Nog Cake

Try loosening the edges of the cake to remove the cake from the cake pan. In addition to that, make sure to use a knife. Or you can use a spatula immediately as you take it out of the oven.

Also, let the Bundt cake rest for about 10 minutes, then invert it into a rack and jiggle it. Additionally, keep the cake from sticking to the Bundt cake pan. So with that, it would help to grease and flour your bundt cake pan. Ensure to do this before pouring in the cake batter.

While yellow cake mix is recommended for this recipe, you can also use a white cake mix instead. It will still provide a great flavor for your eggnog Bundt cake.

A tube pan will also work for this recipe if you don’t have a Bundt pan. You can also use three 8-inch round cake pans or a 9 x 13-inch sheet pan.

How to Store Your Bundt Cake

Store your eggnog Bundt cake with eggnog glaze in an airtight container at room temperature for one to three days. Be sure to keep the Bundt cake stored in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. You can also keep your eggnog Bundt cake in the fridge in an airtight container for three to five days.

You can also freeze your Bundt cake with or without the eggnog glaze. For a Bundt cake with glaze, set it the in the freezer uncovered for one hour to let the glaze set then wrap it in a layer of plastic wrap and a layer of aluminum foil before you return it to the freezer.

Glazed and un-glazed Bundt cakes can last in the freezer for three to six months when properly stored. When ready to eat, allow the Bundt cake to thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.

How Do You Prevent a Dry Bundt Cake?

It is not uncommon for Bundt cakes to turn out dry, which results in a disappointing cake. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to help prevent your cake from turning out dry.

Be certain not to overmix your batter for your eggnog Bundt cake. Overmixing your cake batter can overwork the batter which can cause it to become tough and dry as it bakes.

It is also a good idea to weigh out your dry ingredients. This ensures you are not adding too many dry ingredients, which can weigh down your cake and make it dry.

Be sure to not overbake your cake as well, as this can cause it to dry out. Check your Bundt cake at 45 minutes to see if it is done or still needs more time in the oven. Baking times can vary by the oven as not all ovens heat the same.

Be sure to also grease your Bundt pan well, as this is key to preventing it from sticking. You can use cooking spray or butter and flour to grease your pan.
