Preheat. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Mix. Soften the butter and mix it with flour and sugar. Gradually add the milk to the butter mixture by stirring well so that it doesn't become lumpy. Set aside.

Add the eggs. Separate the yolks from the whites, and add the 2 yolks to the mixture. In another bowl, whisk the egg whites to the point of snow and make meringue.

Combine. Gradually add the meringue to the previous mixture carefully to preserve the foam.
Bake. Spread the batter onto a 1-inch mold. Put a bain-marie on the bottom and bake for about 35 minutes.
Let it cool. After the cake is done, let it cool down for about 20 minutes.
Make your cheesecake. In a large-sized bowl, using your electric mixer, mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Then, add the cup of whipped cream and carefully combine it with a spatula until smooth and spreadable.

Cut and soak. Once the cake is cool, cut it into two or three round pieces. Then, soak the center of the cake with a little bit of kirsch. You can use a silicone brush.

Build your short cake. Place a sheet of sponge cake on a cake base and spread part of the cheesecake mixture on it. Put some chopped strawberries on top of the cheesecake mixture. Repeat procedure if you're making a two-floor shortcake. Finish with the last piece of cake and spread the rest of the cheesecake mixture evenly to cover it. 10 to 15 strawberries - chopped -
Garnish and enjoy! Lastly, place the remaining strawberries on top to garnish. Cut a slice and enjoy!
