      Instructions

Basic Carrot Cake Recipes Using Yellow Cake Mix

      • Make the Batter - Gather all the ingredients you need and preheat your oven to 350F. Next, prepare two cake pans by greasing and flouring them. Grab a bowl and add all of the cake ingredients. Mix for a few minutes until the ingredients are combined and the batter is as smooth as can be.
      • Bake the Cake - Pour even amounts of batter into your two pans and place in your preheated oven for around 35-40 minutes. You can test when the cake is done by placing a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, your cake is ready. Remove and leave to cool.
      • Frost Your Cake - Once your cake is cool, add a layer of frosting to one half of the cake and place the other layer on top. Then frost the top of your cake and sprinkle the pecans over the frosting. Keep in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat. Enjoy!

Add milk if the frosting seems too thick. Once your frosting is ready, frost the cake and place it in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

      Notes

To make your yellow cake mix carrot cake taste homemade, there are plenty of ways to achieve this. Try adding one of the following to the batter:
      • raisins
      • pineapple
      • shredded coconut
      • nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
      • egg yolk (an extra egg yolk helps to make the batter moister)
      • spices (such as cinnamon and nutmeg)
