Instructions

Red, White, and Blue Poke Cake

  • Prepare the Pan and Preheat the Oven - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease your 13 x 9-inch cake pan with cooking spray.
  • Prepare the Cake - In a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat the cake mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs. Mix until just combined.
  • Bake the Cake - Pour your cake into a prepared cake pan. Bake for 29-34 minutes or unit a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 20 minutes on the wire rack.
  • Prepare the Gelatin - In a medium bowl, stir the gelatin and hot water. Then, stir in the cold water. Using a fork, poke holes into the cake every 1/2 inch. Pour the gelatin over your cake, evenly distributing it. Lightly cover the cake and place it in the fridge for three to twelve hours.
  • Make the Pudding Mixture - In a large bowl, use a whisk to mix the pudding and milk. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
  • Decorate the Cake - Spread the whipped topping mixture evenly over the cake. Decorate the cake with blueberries and strawberries, making a flag design.
