  • 1 cup of orange soda sugar-free
  • 2 tbsp of orange soda additional

Instructions

For The Orange Creamsicle Cake With Orange Soda

  • Ensure to preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Then, prepare a large bowl and place the butter. After that, cream the butter using an electric mixer attached with a paddle attachment. Afterward, beat for two minutes. Or beat until the butter becomes lighter in color.
  • Next, add the sugar to the butter. And beat the mixture for another two minutes until combined and become fluffy.
  • Afterward, gradually add the eggs. Then, make sure to put the eggs one at a time. And mix the mixture after each addition of the eggs. After that, scrape the bowl's sides and bottom with a rubber spatula to combine the mixture properly.
  • After that, put the flour in a different bowl, then add the salt. With that, make sure to whisk together. Next, add the flour mixture to the butter and egg mixture in increments.
  • Then, set your electric mixer on low speed. And gradually add the cup and two tablespoons of orange soda until well combined. After that, add the orange food coloring if you like a richer color for your pound cake. Afterward, add the orange zest to heighten up the orange flavor of the cake.
  • Next, use the nonstick cooking spray. And grease generously in your bundt pan. Then, pour your orange soda cake batter into the bundt pan. After that, even it out using an offset spatula.
  • Afterward, bake your cake inside the oven for about an hour. Or bake it until your cake cooks thoroughly. To check the cake if it is ready, you can try sticking a toothpick in your cake. And when you pull out the toothpick, and it comes out clean, your cake cooked completely.
  • When your cake is ready, remove the bundt pan from the oven. After that, let it cool down inside the pan for about five minutes.
  • After five minutes, gently turn out your cake into a cooling wire rack. Then, ensure to let it cool completely. Finally, set it aside for later.

For The Orange glaze

  • Before anything else, prepare a mixing bowl. And put your sifted powdered sugar, salt, orange soda, orange juice, and orange zest. Afterward, you can adjust your ingredients for the glaze depending on your preference.
  • Then, gently whisk all the ingredients until you can achieve your desired consistency. Lastly, set aside.

Notes

First of all, you can sprinkle additional orange zest on top of your orange glaze for garnish. Besides that, you can use orange extract on a minimal amount instead of orange zest. Furthermore, keep your ingredients at room temperature. Bear in mind that room-temped ingredients will help to achieve an even baking. So with that, when baking, put your eggs at room temperature before using them.
Moreover, scraping the bowl when beating ensures a well-combined batter. Additionally, adding the orange zest to this recipe will enhance the orange flavor of the cake. Besides, this cake recipe is best with coffee or milk. Also, remember that it is okay that the cake sinks a little. For the most part, it happens during the cooling process. Because of that, it is entirely normal.
In addition to that, you mustn't let the cake sit for more than ten minutes. With that, make sure to let the cake sit before putting it in the oven. Bear in mind to do this once the cake mixes. Besides, it tends to lose its fluffiness the longer you let it sit out. Moreover, this cake is a bit dense rather than being light and fluffy. Similarly, it has a creamy texture.
Furthermore, it would help if you always used a freshly opened carbonated soda drink in the recipe. A soda that has gone flat will not give the bubbles needed to provide the cake a good rise. In addition to that, remember that the orange soda does not provide much in terms of orange taste. However, it gives the lift required to create this type of cake work. Likewise, it provides the cake its color.
