Equipment

  • Plastic wrap
  • Plastic bag
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • A batch of cinnamon rolls

Instructions

  • Follow your cinnamon rolls recipe and go through at usual.
  • Par-bake the cinnamon rolls. Rather than baking the cinnamon rolls, bake them partway for 10–15 minutes. Make sure the rolls are raised and set, not browned. Check on your cinnamon rolls after 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest to cool down completely.
  • Wrap the pan in two layers of plastic wrap or place them into a large Ziploc bag. You can freeze it for 8 hours or up to 6 weeks.
  • The night before you want to serve the rolls, take it out of the freezer, do not unwrap it, and thaw it overnight in the refrigerator.
  • When baking the roll for the next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F. Unwrap and bake for 10-15 minutes until they are golden brown.
  • When frosting the rolls, follow your usual procedure. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

A disposable aluminum foil pan is the best pan to use for this procedure. You won’t be needing to tie up your 9″ pan while holding the cinnamon rolls in the freezer. However, you can freeze them in the pan, then remove it to re-bag it and place it back in the freezer.
Remember to seal or wrap them to avoid the chance of freezer burn. If you don’t have plastic wrap or plastic bags, use a double layer of aluminum foil. The cinnamon shelf life will last about 5-6 weeks only, even if it’s in the freezer.
