How To Melt Nestle Chocolate Chips On The Stove - Easy Steps

  • Prepare the double boiler
    To melt the chocolate chips on the stove, the best method to use is a double boiler. This way, you can apply heat slowly and more accurately.
    To assemble a double boiler, fill a small saucepan with some water. It doesn't have to be a lot. Then, get a heatproof bowl that fits snugly on top of the saucepan. It shouldn't touch the water and no steam should escape from the sides.
    Bring the water to a simmer over medium to medium-high heat. If the water boils too rapidly, it will lift the chocolate bowl and steam will escape.
  • Start melting the chocolate chips
    Once the water is simmering, add the chocolate chips into the heat-proof mixing bowl. Then, gently stir the chips as they begin to heat and melt.
    Keep stirring until eventually, the chocolate chips and completely melted, and you have a uniform mixture.

  • Control the temperature of the melting chocolate
    As the chocolate melts, the temperature should be controlled carefully. if the chips overheat, they could seize and become unmeltable.
    So, when you are unable to touch the bottom of the bowl for longer than 5 seconds, the temperature is too high. Remove the bowl from the simmering water, move away from the steam, and stir the chocolate until it cooled a lot.
  • Use the melted chocolate
    Once your chocolate chips are completely melted, you can use them in whichever way you wanted to. Just don't let it cool too much.
