For Simple Poached Pear Recipe Without Wine

Instructions 

  • Before anything else, peel your pears using a peeler or paring knife. And do not remove the stalks.
  • After that, take a large saucepan. And place your apple juice, lemon juice, sugar, ground cinnamon, pears, cardamom, and vanilla extract inside.
  • Then, cover your large saucepan. And make sure to let pears simmer for about 15 minutes. Or simmer till they become tender and delicate.
  • Afterward, take your slotted spoon. And remove the pears out of the saucepan, and set them aside.
  • Next, boil the liquid mixture in the saucepan until it reduces into a sticky sauce.
  • After that, place your pears into the serving dishes. And drizzle some sauce over them.
  • Finally, serve warm, or you can also chill it and enjoy.

Notes

In the simple poached pear recipe, reduce the sugar to cut down the carbs because the juice is already sweet. But, if you desire it to be sweeter, you can add more.
Ensure to use ground cinnamon rather than cinnamon stick to incorporate the cinnamon in the syrup. Likewise, you can serve the poached pear with syrup. Or you can put a dollop of your favorite ice cream or thick Greek yogurt.
In the Vanilla poached pear recipe, make cinnamon poached pears by replacing the vanilla bean with two cinnamon sticks. And for an Asian take on the dessert, replace the vanilla bean with two pieces of star anise. In addition to that, two thinly sliced pieces of lemon rind and one cinnamon stick.
Also, for the easy and alcohol-free poached pear recipe, refrigerate the leftovers with the juice. And serve it cold with sweetened whip cream.
