Melted white chocolate can be great for dipping strawberries, cake pops, truffles and more. Melting white chocolate chips in a microwave is one way to prepare them for dipping.
To get started, you want to be sure to use a microwave-safe bowl. A glass or ceramic bowl will work fine, as long as it is safe to use in the microwave
After adding your chocolate chips to the bowl, place it in the microwave. Microwave it at half power for 30 seconds then take it out and use a whisk or fork to stir.
Return the bowl to the microwave and microwave at half power for 15 seconds. Stir the white chocolate again and keep microwaving it at 15-second intervals, stirring each time, until around 80% melted.
White chocolate is not as easy to melt as milk or dark chocolate is. It can clump together easily and can even burn too. The trick to melting white chocolate is to do it at low heat and take your time.
The microwave can be an easy and effective way to melt your white chocolate. Just be sure to use half power and melt it for no more than 30 seconds at a time.
