This Martha Stewart chocolate frosting is creamy, chocolatey and everything you want in a frosting. This buttercream only takes a few ingredients.

01 1 ½ pound (six sticks) butter, softened

02 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

03 5 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled

04 1 pound confectioners’ sugar

05 ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

MELT THE CHOCOLATE

Melt the chocolate by placing it in the microwave at medium power.

BEAT THE BUTTER, SUGAR, VANILLA, AND SALT

With the paddle mixer, beat the ingredients on low speed.

ADD IN MELTED CHOCOLATE

Stir in the melted chocolate until it is thoroughly mixed.
